Detox, or detoxification, is the elimination of toxins and waste from
the body. Toxic substances from environmental pollutants are absorbed
into the body through ingestion from eating foods grown with
pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers, breathing in air
contaminants, drinking non-purified water, and consuming meats and fish
that are farm raised not free range or wild caught.
It is necessary to detox the body naturally to improve overall health.
The body’s own detoxification processes are overworked. Detoxing
reduces the overloading of harmful toxins and substances, and provides
the right nutrients to increase the rate at which those toxins are
eliminated from the body. Cells are regenerated and rejuvenated
providing optimal health. Toxic substances can weaken and damage cells
making them susceptible to attack from free radicals. Free radicals
attack these weakened cells potentially making them cancerous. Optimal
wellness is a state of stronger immunity against illness and disease.
A few of the benefits of detoxing are:
- Increased energy and mental clarity
- Improved immunity response
- Improved digestion
- Purify blood
- Clearer skin
- Strengthens the body’s defense against cancer cells
- Slows down the aging process by rejuvenating and regenerating cells
Body detox diet plans can range from a length of 24 hours to as long as
4 weeks in some plans. A body detox may not be for everyone. It does
take commitment and a bit of will power to complete the program. If a
healthier body, free of disease and illness, and a vibrant life is your
goal, then a natural body detox may be something to consider.
